The former president's Granddaughter Seeks Professional Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Before LPGA First Appearance
This young athlete boasts substantial online audience
Kai Trump will have multiple prominent supporters when she makes her first LPGA appearance later this week.
This teenage golfer, who happens to be the granddaughter of a former US president, was granted a sponsor's invitation to participate at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, possesses several international courses and frequently plays against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we have some close matches," she stated.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who won't be present, counseled her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa essentially advised me to compete and have fun," she explained.
"In my eyes, he's simply an ordinary family member. He can't make it this weekend. He's busy with running the country, making him somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, Kai has participated in only three events recently and has ranking 461 in AJGA standings.
But she can get advice from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He stands as the greatest golfer in the world," Kai expressed.
"And he's an even better human being. He advised me to play, enjoy myself, following the flow."
The golfer will compete against some of top competitors in the sport at this tournament, including world number two Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that her participation exposes golf to different demographics, particularly reaching the next generation.
The young star boasts substantial online presence and has started an exclusive fashion and living brand.
Her first tee time at late afternoon GMT.
