Ex-Treasury chief Larry Summers is departing from the directorate at the ChatGPT creator, just days after a batch of electronic messages between him and deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein became widely known.
He commented in a statement that he was "thankful for the privilege to have participated, optimistic about the prospects of the company, and anticipate tracking their advancement".
The former Harvard president, who previously presided over the prestigious university, announced on recently that he would be scaling back from public responsibilities due to his connections with Epstein.

The recently released messages demonstrated that the official exchanged messages with Jeffrey Epstein until the 24 hours preceding his 2019 arrest for accused sex trafficking of minors.
In a separate statement, the technology organization expressed it accepted the economist's determination to step down.
"We appreciate his significant contributions and the insight he offered to the directors," the organization commented.

This announcement arrives after the two houses of Congress decided on recently to pass a measure that would compel the federal prosecutors to disclose its documents on the case.
The measure will then head to the desk of US President Donald Trump for approval. He has indicated he intends to sign the bill, after reversing his position on the issue following pressure from his base.
