David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.
Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, the company has said.
A representative for the company commented: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was made after an inquiry regarding reports of questionable actions involving women.
The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on internal matters."
An Illustrious Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles in total, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
From Screen to Page
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
